Captain America beats Harry Potter


"Captain America" topped expectations at its opening. It won its battle against the almighty "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," which saw its massive opening-weekend audience from last week shrink by 72 percent.
The final episode in the "Potter" series cashed in $48.1 million over its second weekend in U.S. and Canada, plus $121.3 million internationally.

Synopsis:

Set in the high-stakes world of the financial industry, Margin Call is a thriller entangling the key players at an investment firm during one perilous 24-hour period in the early stages of the 2008 financial crisis. When entry-level analyst Peter Sullivan (Zachary Quinto) unlocks information that could prove to be the downfall of the firm, a roller-coaster ride ensues as decisions both financial and moral catapult the lives of all involved to the brink of disaster. Expanding the parameters of genre, Margin Call is a riveting examination of the human components of a subject too often relegated to partisan issues of black and white.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER


After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving).
Captain America: The First Avenger focuses on the early days of the Marvel Universe and is one of a continuing slate of films being produced by Marvel Studios based on the Marvel characters that includes Thor (May 6, 2011) and The Avengers (May 4, 2012).
